My current obsession - mind surfing with Carter
I'm a Beach Host at Atlantic Park Surf, and it's been a wonderful way to learn about surfing.
It's been an opportunity to teach my son.
The mind is powerful.
When I’m at my job at Atlantic Park Surf, I get to watch surfing.
Watching others surf is like learning to surf through osmosis.
It’s amazing really.
Man standing on water. Sound familiar?
Close your eyes
I didn’t know mind surfing was a common thing – but after the first time I surfed, I kept imagining myself paddling.
I spoke to another surfer, and she said, “yeah, you were mind surfing.”
I read Jason Borte’s book A Kook's Guide to Surfing, and he goes into detail on how one can deliberately mind surf.
Enter the waves (in your mind)
It can be you imagining the perfect surfing session.
It can be you imagining the perfect surfing session.
It can be you practicing a pop up.
I even doodle waves while I sit outside as a beach host.
Another form of mind surfing.
