Movies at the Beach!

Driving to the oceanfront with Carter.

We are on our way to see a movie on the beach. A new experience for both of us.

I love our drives to the beach. The music was a prelude to the fun we would have, and a musical promise for summer break.

One of my favorite moments …listening to a song he loved, and seeing him singing it, oblivious to me seeing him.

Summer break air

We walked a few short blocks. Something I noticed were signs of families. Someone was teaching their child to ride their bike in a restaurant parking lot.

Nearing the end of the school year, the gathering of families, the invitation of beach and sun. Something different for families to do together.

And there was something different about the ocean being only steps away. The open air, sitting on the sand.

Children at play

The movie pulled me in, while the sand entertained Carter. Children were playing nearby, and children being children, they needed no introduction to begin playing tag with each other.  

Snacks

There was the smell of snacks, a mandatory experience for a movie. Cinematic aromas. While I did not buy any snacks, it brought the experience of the theatre. Next time, I will bring our homemade popcorn and bring it with us. For those, who want to purchase snacks, the prices seemed reasonable.

Plenty of space

There was a good amount of people, not too crowded. Some stood and watched. Others brought chairs and sat on the boardwalk. I brought a beach blanket, and we found a good spot on the sand.

It was nice to spend time with Carter doing one of my favorite things, (watching a movie) in one of my favorite places (the beach).
